Day 10 on Atkins' Diet PDF Print E-mail

Today was tough with a capital "T".  Tough.

My commute on the LIRR was delayed and I got to work about 35 minutes late.....THEN...because I work in the production department and we have work into the wee morning hours, someone brought in Krispy Kreme Donuts and good coffee! I must have given everyone in the office a look because

no one even dared ask me if I wanted anything.  I got through the day fine but those donuts just kept calling out my name "MARC!"  I got through the day and  finished work without even a spec of sugar nonsense in the shape of a lifesaver.  I then came home and was tempted by a few fast food places but my wife simply said, "Just don't think about it and lets just eat something at home and stick to your diet" So I did.  Thank goodness for my wife! We ate chicken breast with broccoli and I am now stuffed and happy - it tasted MUCH better than any fast food could have.  I was then checking my email and saw Jimmy Moore from Livin' La Vida Low Carb had written a piece about my 'lil podcast!  I was astounded and so excited (a touch afraid as well).  Here is a link to the article.  If I had cheated I would have felt terrible!  I then realized that this isn't just about me and my desires of french fries, it is about making a decision in a public forum and sticking with it 110%!  How could I go and preach "don't eat this or that" when I am munching on muck?!?!?  I am grateful for Jimmy's strong words of encouragement and support and can honestly say that I am even MORE prepared to do this for life.

I ate too much......groan.....and tomorrow I will weigh myself and post the results.

I took my walk today during my break....it was cold but nice out and I bought a 12" John Frusciante Record.  John Frusciante is the reason I continue to play guitar.  I am not a fan of his work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers but his solo work is amazing and if you like Frank Zappa, Capt. Beefheart and Bowie you might like Frusciante.

I will be updating this website throughout the week and if you are interested in writing something or have an idea feel free to send me an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Until next time!
